East 15- Child Imagery

CHILD CHARACTER- In the Butoh workshop we explored imagery and senses that express the child and tryed to transpose a few of these in movement. This list was very abstract but helped find the essence of the character;

Insubstantial fragile elastic, Hollow black, twig,
earth strata compressed, shadow, smoke smuts,
writhe and slash, breathing like a heavy dog, limp,
disassociated, belly want like a void,
walking on a thread in a large empty space looking for something,
heavy black clock ticking, smelling roting leaves,
freezing around the dirty snow in January, snow blind,
endless grey sea and sky, undistinguisable, swaddled in cling film,
double reflection in the mirror, burning newspaper when bits float off and simmer,
fashion magazines torn blown cross concrete foot path-
odd splashes of colour but mainly black and white, skin like warm honey,
bruises on a banana, PVA glue on skin-
peeling it off leaving a see through imprint and when you rub off the left over glue it goes gray and bitty,
chipped nail varnish, heavy painting nails- smells toxic
